Hello all Lolitamodders!
I've been a bit lame about updating, lots of stuff going on, oi. I changed the layout here (come and look!) and I plan to sort out a better tagging system soon. In the meantime - I recently found this UK clothing site Dorothy Perkins that has some Lolitamod-friendly stuff (if only the skirts were poofier! :P):

Grey vintage crochet dress

Black spot border shift dress

Rise black dogtooth zip dress

Lots of classy jackets too!

Black shawl moleskine blazer

Hey all- Just wanted to let you know that I am very much alive and working on a new extension for Lolitamod happenings - an inspirations Tumblr!:
http://lolitamod.tumblr.com/

For anyone who is unfamiliar with the Tumblr format - it is like blogging and Twitter combined; blog-style picture and article posts, but with a greater post-frequency. If you see something you like on somebody else's Tumblr, you can 'reblog' it, meaning that it will then appear on your own blog, but with credit to the original poster. That way, ideas spread! I only just started this Lolitamod Tumblr today, so there's just a few entries (some pics that were posted to this community before and reblogs), but posts will continue to appear on a near-daily basis, since one can add a bunch of stuff to the queue and it will appear of its own accord every few hours. Very handy!

If any of you have a Tumblr account and are interested in becoming a member so you can help post/reblog stuff every once and awhile, just message me your e-mail address and I'll send you a member invite! Otherwise, enjoy reading/looking :)
Cheers,
~Marilyn Also!: by the way, my regular personal Tumblr is: http://neonsigh.tumblr.com/

Some nice finds already...(via purple-mind and mercurymelucretia):

Ta da!

With some accessorizing, I think the black version would be perfect! Though for a less goth-y look, there's always the trousers, buttoned-up cardigan and patterned silk scarf...
Yesterday, I was trying to come up with a good image for the boystyle version of lolitamod since it is hard not to just go for period styles (even in regular lolita, I suppose), and then today I stumbled upon this picture. What do you think?

OK, so I've finally finished two Lolitamod-related things I've been planning for awhile. Firstly, I made a list of music and fashion/other types of inspiration related to the concept:
http://rateyourmusic.com/list/MarilynRoxie/modgothic___lolitamod_fashion_and_music_concept
It's still under construction and I intend to add things to it fairly regularly!

Secondly (and this is big!), a rough draft of the plot synopsis for the Modella Knave story I'd worked on for National Novel Writing Month last year is now available at my website!:
http://marilynroxie.com/bio/lolitamod

I'm still going to do character profiles, and probably expand the info sections a bit, but I've been post-poning this stuff for months and finally got it all wrapped up (for now!). Check the stuff out and let me know what you think!

A wonderful fashion inspiration! :) Also, just so you know, I am working on a Lolitamod/Mod-Gothic comprehensive sort of section on my website that I will share here when it is up, and my Modella Knave story synopsis is about 90% complete and will be ready for anyone interested to check out early next month!

Link I stumbled upon today http://digilander.libero.it/guido_1953/main.htm

Features pages of mostly (if not all) mini-skirted girls, but lots of design elements can be drawn from here. Site also features popular 60's artists, musicians, actresses, etc.

Btw, first outfit is almost done ^^ Can't wait to show off the lolita mod-ness. Currently busy with a lot of other projects though, hope to have it up in a few weeks!

Ciao!

OK, Lolitamod people, so this is what I've been up to...!

^ Pictured above is my debut LP New Limerent Object, which I am totally giving away for free, you can download it here if you'd like (it's instrumental experimental / electronic / sometimes ambient or even krautrock-influenced music!):

http://marilynroxie.com/discography/new-limerent-object/

I'm working on a collaborative EP for possible release which will hopefully come out sometime next month with some other musicians via-the-internet, which I am also excited about! Currently, I am trying to work out how I would go about playing live shows, since I think that's really the next step.

I really do want to make the Lolitamod aesthetic part of my presentation (*groans about not having a sewing machine or any of the necessary skills), and I am still doing that dangnab plot summary for the story based around the idea that I did a draft of in November. With all the musical madness that has been going on as of late, it probably won't be ready for others' eyes until like late July or August (@endoftheworld98: and still plan on asking you to do some character sketches!). I will do my best to pop in now and again if I spot anything rather Lolitamod-ish for sure! Take care everyone,
~Marilyn

(a brand-new video made by E.K. Wimmer for a track from the album, "Indigo", is below- hope you enjoy the music!)

Is anyone here a member of the community sew_loli  ?
They are have a "period lolita" challenge that ends the first Sunday in August. It could be a good time to get some notice out there for this little community :)
I'm hoping we're allowed to enter more than one time period because I'm also itching to do Great War styles, but we'll see.
Hope to find some of you there!

I have way too many ideas. I hate it!
I have about 4 huge boxes of fabric (loads of vintage) in my house and 2 in my dorm. But I've almost never made anything with it because I have too many ideas and I'm waiting for the "perfect" idea to come, or can't decide which is best. Darn!
Well, I brought back an awesome piece of fabric that I was planning on making something with, but now I got on this Venetian Rennaissance lolita kick and I can't think of what would be good for this moddish fabric.
Do you have any ideas or inspirational pictures? I've looked at all of my pictures and patterns, but I can't find anything that hits me just right.

I look like a dork, but I couldn't think of a better way to give you a sense of the size of the print.
It is kind of silky and around 2 yards long.

Please help me think of something!

EDIT:
Anyone have any D-rings?
There aren't any craft stores in middle-of-nowhere-NY for a car-less person and the only ones on line come in a too large quantity. I only need 3 big ones! Will pay with paypal, but a trade for good/services would be more fun! ^^;
They are for a lolita mod jsk I started on Friday and I can't finish it without them.
